When my adopted son was very little, the most-asked question I got was, “Are you going to tell him?”or “How are you going to tell him?” My favorite answer was, “I bought a book titled Telling Your Child the Truth About Their Adoption, and I’m just leaving it out on the coffee table. I figure once he learns to read, he’ll spot the book and figure it out.” The looks I got were priceless!
