We know you use Kidology for great ideas, such as those found in our Thanksgiving Zone. If you are looking for more resources, such as helpful curriculum, here's a guide to some Thanksgiving products in the Kidology Store you should explore!
The Sunday after Thanksgiving can be challenging. Attendance can be down as many people travel. However, it is also a Sunday when you can have many quests as people are traveling and visiting your church! It is also a Sunday when your own people may be deciding whether to attend church or not due to family being in town, a focus on it being a relaxing “family weekend,” or just being tired from all the cooking and family outings. It’s also a Sunday when it can be extra challenging to staff the children’s ministry with so many people out of town or otherwise unavailable.
THE SOLUTION: Host a Candy Pancake Breakfast for the kids! It’s something they will LOVE, TALK ABOUT, and LOOK FORWARD TO, and even BRING A FRIEND! You’ll also have some awesome photo ops for sharing and promoting in the future.
This Super Sunday helps reinforce with kids how important it is to be thankful for all we've been given! It's also a fun time to enjoy some yummy pancakes with friends, new and old!
We live in a "gimmie gimmie" culture that focuses on how much it can get. God wants us to have an attitude of gratitude for the many blessings we already have. The purpose of this unit is not only to help kids focus on being thankful, but to challenge them to think of some people that they haven't expressed thanks to, and help them think of some ideas to express their thanks in practical ways.
Operation: Thanks includes an assignment after the lesson where children will be challenged to do something to demonstrate thankfulness to three people who have helped them, yet they haven't yet responded to in a tangible expression of thanks.
Theme Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Gimmie! Gimmie! Thanksgiving is a fast-paced, holiday trading game that illustrates thankfulness vs. selfishness. Ideal for just a few kids as well as large groups, the object is to collect a complete set of Thanksgiving cards, while avoiding the greedy Gimmie! Gimmie!
Hectic fun unfolds as players shout "Two! Two!" and other combinations of cards to trade, all while working to build a matched set in the time allotted. Adapted by Karl Bastian as a solution for understaffed volunteer situations around the holidays, it provides an interactive object lesson while requiring just a few leaders to run.
Recruiting is a never-ending job! That's why it's important to be fresh and original in how we approach prospective volunteers. The invitation to serve children must be creative and positive, but consistent!

With jokes like these, who wouldn't smile? But These Turkey Jokes postcards aren't just fun and games. When you send these out to your kidmin volunteers, you'll also be telling them how thankful you are for them.
Thanksgiving isn't just something we do once a year - it is an annual reminder that we should be THANKSLIVING! This simple game, based off the classic game of "MEMORY," will help kids to think of things they are thankful for - and then focus on them.
Giving thanks ALWAYS and for EVERYTHING to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20
Kidology's Family Table Talkers are a reproducible tool designed to help families disconnect from tech and connect with each other and God's Word. We live in a hurried culture, families are constantly on the go, and finding time to connect with each other and God's Word is a challenge. There is no shortage of family devotional guides, but few families have (or make) the time for daily devotions.
These Table Talkers are designed to make it easier for families to connect around the meal table for meaningful conversation around a monthly theme. Every Family Table Talker includes a theme, a motto for the month, a victory verse, some goofy games, live chat discussion starters, a family challenge, and more!
Noduh, the Wise One introduces the discipline of thanksgiving to children. The world can be greedy - kids will be challenged to develop an attitude of gratitude.
This 3-minute high resolution video is ideal for projection or for play in a large group setting.
