Psalm 119:105 says God's word is a light unto our path. This object lesson uses an oil lamp or lantern to help explain the role the Holy Spirit has in helping us to understand and apply the bible to our lives.

Object: Lantern - you can also use an oil lamp and matches.

Verse: Psalm 119:105

Lesson: Genesis 1:1 says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Verse 2 goes on to say the earth was without form and void. That means it didn’t have a real shape like it does now. It was empty of everything except water. Then it says that darkness was upon the face of the deep.

Darkness. How many of you like darkness?
