Bible Sword Drill on Worship being a "Show of Worth"

Kids with Bibles all participate or invite volunteers to come up front. Children hold Bible closed with hands on covers, teacher states the reference twice, and then on “SEARCH!” the students race to find the verse. Once they have a finger on the verse they can raise their other hand and call out, “FOUND IT!” Have the child read the verse out loud while projecting the verse on the screen via PowerPoint.

Suggestions for comments on the verse are below. Keep comments short and to the point of the lesson.

Let’s see what the Bible has to say about WORSHIP.

Psalm 100:1-2 Singing is one of the most common ways we worship.

Psalm 97:9 There is no one higher, or more valuable, than God is.

Psalm 118:24 Every day there are reasons to worship God. Every day is a gift.

Psalm 100:2 If we are happy, singing to God is one of the ways we can express our joy.

Psalm 95:6 Kneeling before God is a way to show great humility and respect to our creator.

Psalm 150:3-5 We can praise God with musical instruments and even with dancing.
