Better than an Eraser - Object Lesson on Forgiveness

Membership Level Starter

Author/Source: Stephanie Krill

Topic: Forgiveness

This object lesson can be used to teach on forgiveness.

Object: An eraser

Hold up the eraser.

What do I have in my hand?
(Let them answer – “an eraser!”)

What do we use an eraser for?
(Wait for answers – “to erase mistakes!”)

That’s right! We use erasers to fix mistakes we make when we’re writing or drawing with a pencil. But have you ever tried to erase something and it didn’t come off all the way? Maybe the mark was still there, or the paper got all smudgy?
(Let a few kids respond.)
