At our church, we recently began including a “response time” at the end of our kids’ services — inviting children to come forward during the closing song for personal prayer. It’s been a beautiful and powerful addition to our worship time. But as the altar filled with little hearts and folded hands, a new question bubbled up from my amazing team of leaders:

“What exactly should we say or do when a child comes forward for prayer?”
