How much is too much when "helping" our kids?

 

Parents naturally take advantage of the everyday teachable moments that happen in life, such as providing instruction, correcting behavior, or even prompting with questions. (Showing a struggling preschooler how to work a puzzle is such a time.) Kids need help sometimes. When a child is appropriately on task, though, overly engaged parenting can actually hinder the child’s growth.
