I love Kidology Coaching. I don’t feel so alone in my ministry, I feel supported and encouraged. I also have someone to go to answer questions that I have. My Coach is just an e-mail away and I love it!

CPC Orlando is coming up in a few weeks!  Anyone besides me going?  I'd love to meet up!

I'm going to be there.  I am also bringing a Children's Ministry Team Member as well.  I would love to meet up with you.  I am kind of new to the kidology group but this is my fifth year to go to a CPC and I am excited!  Where and when would you like to meet?

We'll be at CPC in Orlando - bringing the whole team. Back after a couple of years off. Last year we went to Orange.

I'll be at the Orlando CPC. I think this will be my 6th CPC and I can't wait! This is my first post on the forum after being away from kidology for a good while (I don't know why). It's good to be back and am always up for networking if a group's gathering in Orlando.

In looking over the CPC schedule, I noticed that Friday night is dinner on our own.  I know it is intended for groups who are coming together.  However, I am the only one from my church who is attending.  Would you be up to having dinner together on Friday night?

We actually reserved a table at the Maya Grill at the resort for that night.  I had no idea what to expect for that Friday night so thought I'd play it safe.  We have reservations for three...if it is a table for four I can see about adding you if you would like to join us.  Just let me know. But I would still like to meet everyone at some point!

And I'm the third chair at Allison252's table, but I too would love to meet everyone sometime.

I'll be there. I'm a last-minute replacement for a Conference Assistant position. Got my airline arrangements finalized last night.

I believe I may be serving you guys at the INCM Conference Store. Come on over and say hi.

Allison,

I'd love to join you if you can work it out.  It would also be fun to meet up with others - maybe after an evening general session?

Laura,

I just called and made it a table for four so you are welcome to join us.  If you can email me a way to contact you next week that would be great.  My email is allison252@fairwaybaptist.com

Everyone:

As far as meeting with everyone how about Thursday or even Friday night after the conference.  I haven't checked to see what is schedule as far as late night events but either night is fine with me.  What does everyone think?

If I'm looking right, Thursday night is the Go Fish concert, and Friday after the General session is open time in the Resource Center. I'm good for either- I'd kinda like to see Go Fish , so I'll vote for Friday night. I'll probably be out of money by then anyway.

Friday sounds good to me!  Do we want to plan on grabbing a few tables at the Pepper Market?  (I'm not sure how late they are open)

Sounds great to me.  The website says they close at 11:00pm.  So that should be enough time.  The exhibit hall is open until 11pm but the general session ends at 9:30pm.  That is the last night of the exhibit hall so I'm not sure if anyone would rather take a last minute look at some booths.  I am good with whatever you all decide.

Can I join you too? I'm already here and looking forward to connecting with some Kidology folks! Be sure to find me and get your Kidology Button to wear and help find others who hang out here on Kidology!

Let me know if I can crash your dinner party and join you for dinner Friday!

Dinner at the Maya was a blast:

although I got a little nervous when I saw what was on the menu!

I couldn't believe they would EAT A PASTOR!

Hey, if you were they at CPC post a comment! Did you get a button? Did you have a great time? Did I get to meet you?

Nate? Where are you? No more LURKING in the forum! Time to post!! (my Magical Express seatmate headin' to airport who confessed to only reading in the forum!)

Alright, after a few years of lurking, Karl has convinced me to post.
CPC is always a premier event for me. Sadly, this year, though it had great speakers and workshops, was somewhat a let down. I look forward to the meals so I can sit with perfect strangers and find out who they are, where they're from, and how they do ministry. I glean some really cool ideas and am able to give some ideas as well. But this year it seemed that we only had a few minutes before the colored vehicles raced, watched a commercial, and jumped into the service.
The sun shined, speakers shined, and I was replenished, so now I shine! All around good time to me.
Referring to the menu above: Exactly how do you catch a pastor?

I agree with nateb. The meals - as well as other parts of the General Sessions were not handled well.

Attended some really good workshops though and Al Denson was a blast Friday night. I never did get a kidology button!

Now that I'm no longer a CPC virgin, I have to say the week was informative and encouraging. I particularly enjoyed the leadership seminars from the Bethel Seminary folks - extremely helpful to me.

I agree with the meal situation, and I spoke about it with one of the conference organizers (an old friend of mine) who asked me for some feedback, so hopefully that will be improved next year.

Karl - do you ever stand still? I got to shake your hand, I took the picture of you with the River's Edge ladies, and then never saw you again. It's ok, though - it keeps your mystique alive as part of my hero worship...

You are too funny. (looking up for lightening) Sorry I didn't get to connect more, I was serving in the DiscopleLand booth during exhibit hours and tried not to stray too much from there to earn my keep. Thanks for taking the pic, next time say hello. We plan to have a booth next year, so I'll be easier to find.

Karl... you are WAY younger than I thought you were... either that or you are as old as you look in your pics and just look younger in person!

I've decided that my "impression" of your being older is based on your written communication as well as your incredible diplomacy and grace when dealing with difficult comments on this forum. Last fall I was going to discontinue my Kidology membership because it seemed to be a meeting ground for one denomination. Your reply to my letter was incredibly loving and I was convinced that your heart and vision for Kidology was intact.

I also appreciate your humility. It is obvious that you do not perceive yourself as a celebrity. I thought it was awesome that you hooked up for dinner with a bunch of Kidology folks... and you were obviously working while you were there. This forum is a blessing... and I think it's because we don't have to ever wonder where in the world Karl is... he's centered in Christ and giving Him the glory.

Gilly1954, you are too kind. Thank you. I'll hook up with Kidology Folks any day! I'm in awe of what God has chosen to do through this website. At times I feel like the woodpecker who was pecking away at a tree when it was struck by lightening and fell, and after it fell, he thought, "Wow! How did THAT happen?" I'm just pecking away at kids ministry like anyone who comes to this site. God is the lightening that keeps blessing Kidology! HE gets all the credit and glory, Amen!

Thanks for your encouragement, its appreciated.

Nate, finally got my pics off my camera (had to ship my laptop for repairs as soon as I got home)

Here is the pic of us after the shuttle ride to the airport:

Glad we got to meet, see ya in October at Kid U!
