The Messenger is as Important as the Message

Our goal as a teacher isn’t just to pass on knowledge to kids – it is to help them experience God through the lessons and stories that we share. You have a choice – you can be merely a messenger passing on information, or you can become an engaging part of the story. You’ve heard it said, “Don’t shoot the messenger.” But I say, “Don’t let the messenger shoot the message!”

If we want our students to get into the lesson, we must do so first! Facts by themselves often fall flat. It is how those ideas are shared that makes all the difference in the world.

You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression!

As soon as children enter our classroom, our appearance can communicate that the lesson today is going to be both FUN and important. Fun because we catch their eye and capture their heart. Important because we took the time to go the extra mile and make the lesson visual and appealing.
