Book Three: The Promised Land
After Moses, the tribes of Israel follow their next leader, Joshua, into the Promised Land. Because they obey the Lord, they are able to conquer the land of Canaan. Their obedience however did not last. Time and time again they betray the Lord and the Lord soon allows them to be conquered by other nations. The Lord then selects various Judges to be leaders among the Israelites. The Judges repeatedly reveal to them miracles of God and deliver the Israelites from various trials all for the purpose of bringing them back to God. The mighty Samson, the prophet Samuel and Israel's first king, Saul, all showed obedience to the Lord during this time as the Israelites’ story continues in the book, The Promised Land.
