Teaching with Toys!
Long before YouTube even existed, I had some videos “go viral” – something I did just for my own kids at my home church that was discovered by other churches searching the web for creative teaching ideas. The next thing I knew, videos that had been posted only on my church website were being downloaded and used in churches across America. Often, as I travel, rather than being known as the founder of Kidology.org, I have heard people say, “Aren’t you the Toybox Tales guy?”
Now, over a decade later, people are still using Toybox Tales to engage children in Bible stories and parables in this fun and unique way. So many others have taken this teaching method that I created to make their own videos that it’s an honor to be the originator of this concept.

Send Your Kids Back to School with Jesus
Is It Recess Yet? is a 4 Week BACK TO SCHOOL Series by Karl Bastian! The purpose is to help get kids excited about school in the fall and see it in a new light. Instead of just somewhere they have to go to learn, they will be challenged to see school as a place they can shine for Jesus by being more like Him. They will be encouraged to do their best, understanding that God has a plan for each of us, and preparing for that plan is very important.
They will also be reminded not to compare themselves to others, but to see that God made them special and unique and no one else can be or do what they are meant to accomplish in this life.
The secret is to be like Jesus, who at a young age the Bible says "grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52, the theme verse for this unit.)

What Weighs Us Down? - Object Lesson
 It is amazing how many children are walking around with the weight of the world on their shoulders. They have worries and cares just like adults do. How appropriate and needed are the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) The problem is most people who are weighed down don’t realize how much needless weight they are carrying.
