LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD
We're in the final stretch preparing for our 10th Anniversary Kidology University, and I've been digging through old Kidology files from as far back as 1994 when the site was first launched. I'm looking forward to showing many of those early site designs and logos at the banquet next Wednesday. While they are a bit embarrassing, they also are a great reminder of just how much God has blessed us in the nearly 15 years we've been equipping and encouraging those who minister to children.

I am so blessed by an awesome team, both past and present, and the many who have donated or volunteered to assist us in helping our members better minister to children.

Kidology has done a lot to reach and teach kids - but all we've done pales compared to all that YOU have done collectively! Literally millions of kids are impacted each month by those who visit this site! Keep up the great work... we promise to keep doing our best to equip and encourage you along the way!

Because Jesus Loves Children,
Karl D. Bastian - a.k.a. "The Kidologist"

KIDOLOGY REPORT: WHO MADE THE MOON?
"In Who Made the Moon? A Father Explores How Faith and Science Agree, author Sigmund Brouwer takes us on a journey through the study of Galileo, with a brief discussion of Copernicus, Tycho, and Kepler," notes Kidology CP Team member Nancy Keith.

"He believes that science is a great ally in our beliefs in the Genesis account of creation. Brouwer's search for understanding and clarity leads him to a figurative interpretation of Genesis through a scientific lens."

"However, Brouwer does not seem to leave room for anyone else's interpretation but his. He states, "If your view of Creation is close to a literal account of Genesis, in all likelihood you have already encountered the difficulty in reconciling it with what you know of modern science. But because you are an adult and have made a faith choice that will stand up to doubt, this is not necessarily a problem. For you."

MOVIE REVIEW: IGOR
Igor"In the land of Malaria, bad is good and good is bad," notes Kidology CP Team member Nancy Keith in her review of Igor. "To get to the top you need to come up with the most evil invention, a creation that will be able to overcome all the other inventions, well, evilly.
"

"Igor and his cohorts do invent a monster. Yet despite all of his excellent design and hard work, and even the insertion of an evil bone, the monster -- Eve -- is GOOD! Yikes!..."

As with all Kidology movie reviews, we provide children's ministry-oriented teaching tools such as an overview, areas of concern, teachable themes with scripture, and discussion questions.

UNBRIDLED: AN UNCONFERENCE FOR WOMEN
UnbridledKarl Bastian writes: "When I first announced Yosemite Summit last year, I got many e-mails asking me to plan a similar event for women, even a few polite scoldings for making my event 'men only'."

"Obviously, I can't host a women's retreat! So I went to one of the most remarkable children's ministry leaders in the country -- Kim Bobb (who happens not to be a man) -- and challenged her to create a similar event for women. Unbridled was born!"

This event takes place October 20-22 in Circleville, Ohio. Availability is limited, so act soon!

MOVIE REVIEW: FLY ME TO THE MOON
Fly Me To The Moon"Growing up in a junkyard across the river from Cape Canaveral watching the humans repeatedly fly into space, Nat, I.Q., and Scooter are three "tween" age flies that want an adventure." Thus starts this movie review of animated 3D Fly Me To The Moon by CP Team Leader Todd McKeever and his wife Rachel.

"Bigger flies are going places and doing things that they either aren't allowed or are too afraid to do. The three plan that on the next NASA mission, Apollo 11, they will accompany the humans and be the first flies on the moon."

As with all Kidology movie reviews, we provide children's ministry-oriented teaching tools such as an overview, areas of concern, teachable themes with scripture, and discussion questions.
