GOT ANY FRESH BREAD?
A recent high school youth group reunion brought my youth pastor, Dan Gute, across my path again after years. I was reminded of his frequent request for "fresh bread" - something God had done or shown us in the past week. We can all tuck some spiritual nuggets away to pull out whenever there is a time to share, but Dan only allowed us to share something if it was fresh. He was encouraging us to keep our walk with God current and to never be satisfied with by-gone experiences with God.

We all are eager to leave the failures of the past behind, but his weekly request for fresh bread let us know that even our victories start to smell stale if we aren't walking with God each week. As the summer winds down and the busy fall winds up - make sure you've got some fresh bread to share. I'm sure it's been a great summer full of great stories - but what has God done or showed you this week? Want to share your "fresh bread"?

KIDOLOGY REPORT: CHILDREN MATTER
"Most existing textbooks on children's ministry are either outdated or lack a broad view," writes Kidology CP Team member Frank Tan in his book review of Children Matter: Celebrating Their Place in the Church, Family, and Community.

"Four seminary professors in the field of Christian education came to the same conclusion as I did, so they collaborated to write this book. I heartily agree that this should be a recommended textbook for children's ministry courses."

MOVIE REVIEW: THE SIMPSONS MOVIE
"The Simpsons creator Matt Groening finally decided the time was right to put Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the rest of the town of Springfield onto the big screen via The Simpsons Movie," writes Kidology CP Team member Jeramy Chapman. "The result? A movie that parents will probably take kids to and be quite shocked at just how far the writers were willing to push the envelope."
