TRAINING
KIDS TO SERVE It's
hard to believe, but I just finished
my fourteenth year of K.C. Krew (Kids' Church Krew). This
is my group of 5-6th graders who help plan, prepare, and pull
off Kids' Church every week. While there are many avenues
to children's ministry, my K.C. Krew has always been my favorite.
I like to think it's Jesus' model of ministry - He ministered
to the masses, but he poured his life into a handful of young
people who carried on His ministry after He left. My prayer
is that serving at church will become something children do
naturally. It's no mystery to me why so many adults have no
interest in serving; the church trained them through childhood
and youth to come to church and sit and watch… and then we
wonder why they won't volunteer. It's about time we taught
kids to serve... so they will never stop!

BIBLE READING PLAN FOR KIDS Kidology
contributor Gerry Galbreath shares the following downloadable
PDF: "This is a daily Bible Reading Plan with several options
for kids to follow. It also gives tips for how to get
the most out of Bible study and helps them select a Bible
version that is easy for them to understand."

IS A "REGULAR ATTENDEE"? "We're
revising our child protection policy," writes Network Forums
member jrsimpson. "One sample I've been using states
'No volunteer will be allowed to work with children until s/he
has been a member or regular attendee for a minimum of six (6)
months.' How would your church define a 'Regular Attendee'?"

near a large university and Air Force base in Missouri, we
average 1,500 in worship and have a beautiful new children's

Pastor who can develop our programming and volunteer staff.
We're reaching a lot of people and need help!"
