What is Easter Anyway?

In our culture, Easter has become synonymous with Spring, and everything that's associated with the warmer season. Spring is about new life, green grass, bunnies, eggs and chicks... and of course, candy has acquired a significant role in celebrating this holiday.

But is that what Easter is all about?

As Christians, we know there is a deeper meaning to this holiday. We celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior. This is the most significant holiday of our faith, and yet too often we allow it to become watered down by all the commercialism that floods our stores.

There is nothing inherently wrong with these traditions, and they definitely make the holiday fun and exciting for the kids. But we must be careful, both in the ministry and at home, that we aren't focusing on the tradition more than the Gospel message.

Take time this Easter season to explain the significance between our cultural traditions and the real meaning of Easter. And if you're looking for a fun way to present this to your kids, check out What is Easter Anyway?, a fun Toybox Tales video that explores the various aspects of Easter, including the true reason we celebrate.

Why Are You Here?
Why Are You Here?
What is God's plan for your life? Where has God placed you?

Matt Norman brings some perspective to help us figure out why God has placed us where we are. If you aren't sure you are living in the right neighborhood, attending the right church, or working the right job, then maybe you need to look at your life from God's point of view. Maybe he has put you exactly where He wants you to be.

"We often talk about God's plan for our lives. We say that nothing happens in our life by coincidence, but is all part of God's plan. I believe these things to be true. But, if this is true, what does it mean?"

Teach the Truth this Easter
The Truth About Jesus The Truth About Jesus is a SINGLE Easter lesson from DiscipleLand's DiscipleTown #16: How to Know the Truth series, written by Karl Bastian. It will help kids understand the significance of who Jesus was and what He means for their lives both now and for all of eternity.

Jesus: Good man, prophet, myth, or Savior of the world? This lesson will help children understand exactly who Jesus is and is not. The most polarizing man in human history was far more than just a man - and He did much more than just become the central point of our calendars.
