This past weekend I took my family to a model airplane air show. Once they were in the air, it was hard to believe they weren't real planes! Jets whizzed by, bi-planes did their stunts, music played, and Luke & Karl at the Air Showhotdogs vanished... giving everyone a wonderful day. It occurred to me that we were at an event where grown men were playing with very expensive playthings, reminding me of the saying, "The difference between the men and the boys is just the price of their toys."

This event was also a great reminder that there is no need to grow up. Every one of us should hang on to a piece of childhood and take it into adulthood with us. For these men, it was a love of airplanes. What is it for you? Perhaps we are in children's ministry partly because there is a bit of us that refuses to grow up. Ministry to kids allows us to remain in the world of kids.

This week, push away from your desk, grab a toy, and go outside to play. If you don't have a toy or a hobby, go get one and rediscover a childhood love of yours. It might just be the best thing for your soul, and in turn, the best thing for your ministry. A healthy ministry starts with a healthy minister.

Movie Review: Cars 2
Cars 2"Cars 2 is a solid sequel to its predecessor," notes Kidology CP Team Member Glen Woods in his review of the Disney-Pixar film.

"I appreciate its focus on friendship and how to handle conflict. The filmmakers have given parents a terrific opportunity to discuss these issues with their children. I recommend it to most families"

As with all Kidology movie reviews, we provide children's ministry-oriented teaching tools such as an overview, areas of concern, teachable themes with scripture, and discussion questions.
