How To Do EverythingI was so excited this month when I got my issue of BACKPACKER magazine. There it was! Someone had finally written an article on "How To Do Everything!" So many things press on me daily, that it seems I end every day a failure. I want to be a good husand, a good dad, a good minister... oh, and a good friend, and a good Christian, and and and and... there are more roles and tasks and good intentions than I can keep track of! Only problem is, I haven't had time yet to read the article.

And now December is here! More to do!

Can I make a suggestion? Do less, not more, this month. Here's a little secret that hopefully you've figured out by now. Not only can't you do everything - you shouldn't.

Be sure to set some boundaries this month so that you can ENJOY it. Don't let December drive you crazy. SAY NO to enough things that you feel like you are in control. Otherwise, the busyness of the season will rob you of the Joy that is supposed to be the Reason for the Season, remember?

DiscipleTown #15 - How to Show Respect
"How to Show Respect""Kids today have no respect!"

How to Show Respect is Unit 15 in the DiscipleTown Kid's Church curriculum series from Karl Bastian and DiscipleLand.

What is respect and where does it come from? In this unit, your children will learn basic skills to help them show respect to God, themselves, their families, and others. They will realize that respect begins as an attitude.

If we develop a respectful attitude, respectful behavior will soon follow. We can help children become more respectful by helping them accept who God made them to be and by encouraging them to improve their attitudes toward other people.

Widows & Spiritual Gifts
Widows & Spiritual GiftsKarl Bastian answers a question pertaining to 1 Timothy 5:9-10 and its use in DiscipleTown Unit #11: How to Discover Gifts & Talents.

1 Timothy 5:9-10 - "No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband, and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord's people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds."

Kidology Forums Member lowndeb notes that she has "never looked at this description of the behavior of the widows as spiritual gifts."
