As Kidology folks know, I'm passionate about the topic of "Intentional Parenting" - its the theme of my Online Training Lab "Partnering with Parents" and something I have preached and "teached" about...

But, of course, it starts in your own home. Early on when we first became parents we got excited about starting a family learning time. Inspired by a family in one of our first ministries who did a "Praise the Lord Time" every evening, we started that with Luke when he was around two. It was a complete disaster!

We quickly had to surrender that we were starting the family devotional thing too soon and settled for bedtime Bible stories and prayers, prayers at meals, Christian entertainment, and learning moments throughout the day. However, at this point in time, we didn't set aside any formal home devotional time for the time being.

But the time has come for me to be more intentional as a parent -- a Deuteronomy 6 Dad -- and start doing some formal (but fun) spiritual training in my own home - and not just encouraging others to do so via the materials I write for churches.

Service Project Ideas
Service ProjectsFrom the Kidology Forums, ckoscik writes:

"I'd love to hear any and all ideas for service projects that kids from K-5th grade can do in a one-hour time frame, during the Sunday morning children's ministry program. What have all of you done in the past, or have planned for the future? Please share!"

I'm a kid min?  No, IMAKIDMIN.com!
IMAKIDMINYou've long been able to interact with your "kidmin" peers in the free Kidology Forums or on sites like CM Connect, but a discussion forum or social network doesn't easily help you know where people live - and more importantly, who lives near YOU!

To solve that common problem, Michael Chanley, the same mega-networker and innovator who created CM Connect, has introduced IMAKIDMIN.com.  This site is specifically designed to help those in children's ministry find who lives near them... for FREE! You can list yourself on the main map page, but also on the blog page, Twitter page and Facebook page too.

There's also a IMAKIDMIN Kidology Page where members both in the US and around the world can mark their location. What a great way to network, share ideas, and get together in person!
