Well, it's November. Time to dig out those cards and send out some "Thank Yous!" And you better "make your list, and check it twice" - because if you forget someone, it won't be nice!

While it is true that we ought to be thankful all year long and that sincere expressions of gratitude that aren't attached to a holiday mean more, the fact is, if you don't express gratitude now, when will you? So either put it on the calendar for the future so you won't forget, or use some of these tips for saying 'thanks' more genuinely than just a card.

Leadership Forum with Greg Baird
Leadership Forum with Greg BairdKidology is pleased to welcome children's ministry authority Greg Baird as host of the Leadership Forum on Kidology.org. He'll be available to provide leadership insights, stimulating discussion, answer YOUR questions, and keep Kidology folks in the loop on exciting things in children's ministry.

This includes The Future of Children's Ministry, an author invitational series featuring 18 kidmin leaders. Greg has asked each of them what they think lies in store for children's ministry and will be posting their articles weekly on his site KidMin360.com.

We'll be discussing each article in the Leadership Forum, where Kidology Basic and Premium Members can react and ask questions. When this series is complete, the articles will be compiled into a PDF book, complete with quotes from the discussion -- which may include something you shared!

What are you waiting for? Check it out!

Predicted Future vs. Preferred Future
Future of CMThe first article in The Future of Children's Ministry series features Karl Bastian illustrating two possible outcomes...
"In answering the question, "What is the Future of Children's Ministry?" I'm always faced with a very real dilemma. Do I respond with my Predicted Future or my Preferred Future? Because in many ways, unfortunately, they are very different when I look over the children's ministry landscape today. So, I will give you both."

7 Greatest Questions Facing KidMin
7 Greatest Questions"The primary issue facing KidMin is defining what it is and is not, then shaping it accordingly," notes Roger Fields, president of Kidz Blitz Ministries.

"...children's ministry prompts a variety of expectations. Other than take-home papers and a summertime VBS, most people - even church boards - don't know what children's ministry should do or be."

"To help further the discussion, here's my outlook on these fundamental questions."

DiscipleTown #9 - How to Build Character
"How to Build Character"How to Build Character, Unit 9 in the DiscipleTown Kid's Church curriculum series from Karl Bastian and DiscipleLand, is now available!

Children grow up being told what to do and what not to do, learning behaviors that keep them out of trouble and earn them rewards. In this short-sighted approach, their walk with Christ becomes limited to seeking to please the adults in their lives.

This unit trains children to evaluate and take ownership of their spiritual growth, following the model of Jesus' growth in the short but powerful verse, Luke 2:52 (Wisdom, Character, Integrity, and Reputation).
