I thoroughly enjoyed the Kidology To Go conference! I felt like I got permission to do many of the things in my class that I wanted to do , but was afraid they may not be acceptable- Like have FUN!!! Plus there were so many great ideas. I plan on getting lots of TOYS for Christmas this year to share with my class. Also appreciated the teaching on how to handle difficult opportinities instead of difficult kids. - Thank you for bringing this great class!

Title: Missions Airplane Trip
Author/Source: Karl Bastian
Topic: Missions Event
Summary: This is a great way to take kids on a "trip" they will never forget.
Want to take kids 'on a trip' that they will not forget?

Imagine coming into an airplane and then exiting to a new and exciting place, without ever leaving your church. Great for a missions week!

All you have to do is decorate a hallway at church like an airplane, have the kids check in, and take their seat in the 'airplane.' While in the plane, if you have any flight attendants in your church, have them do the safety procedures just like on a real plane. Show an 'in flight' movie of the country you are studying, or missionary you are learning about or supporting, and then when the flight is over, have them exit out the other end of the 'plane' into a room that is decorated like the country you are visiting! The kids will really get into it!

Here are some pictures of the one that we did:

The view of the hallway turned airplane. The windows are sky stationery cut like windows. The ends of the hall are covered with hanging sheets. See the TV for the 'in-flight' movie.

See the flight attendants giving the safety instructions before the 'flight.'

Be creative - it will be a 'trip' the kids will always remember.
