Leadership Labs Presenters
Get to know the presenters of our Leadership Labs, Kid U's personalized coaching that help you apply leadership principles to your children's ministry! These 3-hour Labs are broken into two 90-minute sessions, complimented by additional time to network in between.
Each of the following facilitators will be conducting a Leadership Lab on Thursday and Friday, October 2-3.
Jim Wideman is an internationally recognized voice in children's and family ministry. Host of the Kidology.org Leadership Forum, he has over 30 years experience in helping churches thrive. Having served for 17 years at Church on the Move in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim's life mission is to build strong leaders in the local church. Greg Baird is the Founder/Director of Kids In Focus (Jamul, CA). Greg has spent most of the past 17 years as a Children's Pastor in the San Diego area, beginning his ministry under the leadership of John Maxwell at Skyline Church, and currently serving at Shadow Mountain Community Church under the leadership of Dr. David Jeremiah. Greg has been the first Children's Pastor at three churches, applying evaluation techniques and development principles that he now offers through Kids In Focus. [KidsInFocus.org]
Dave & Rennie Garda are Missionaries of Encouragement with
Cadre Ministries (Sycamore, IL). They have a passion for equipping
and encouraging volunteers who need help with their ministry yet
lack resources for traditional training. Dave holds a Masters degree
from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and is an author of various
training tools, while serves as a coach, trainer and volunteer encouragement

Scott Turansky & Joanne Miller are the founders of the National Center for Biblical Parenting (Lawrenceville, NJ), an organization that offers Christian Parenting Conferences, trains leaders to run Effective Parenting Support Groups, and provides biblical parenting resources to churches. They have written four books on parenting, created two parent training video series, and authored children's program curriculum so that churches can teach the children at the same time the adults are learning. Karl Bastian has over fifteen years of experience as a full time children's Pastor in large, small, and mobile churches. He is also the founder of Kidology.org, one of the leading Internet destinations for those who minister to children. He has a Bible Theology degree from Moody Bible Institute and a Masters in Children's Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Karl is an author of and contributor to several children's ministry books and magazines, a trainer and encourager at conferences around the world, but his favorite place to be is in front of kids creatively teaching them the Bible and training them to serve God.
