NO GREATER HONOR "I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the House of the
Lord.' " (Psalm 122:1)
One of the greatest blessings of being in
children's ministry is to see children sincerely worshiping God... and
what an even greater honor to have the privilege of
introducing them to God and teaching them how to worship! Many times
in ministry I've had the distinct joy of having parents 'complain' to
me that they needed to postpone leaving on vacation because their
children simply would not miss Sunday worship. There is no higher
compliment to a week of hard work than preparing to lead children in
worship and teaching the Word of God!
I know it's been a long summer. Just when you may feel completely
exhausted, it is time to kick off a new year of ministry this fall!
Just remember, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the
proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians
6:9)
Hang in there - and after teaching the kids to worship,
be sure you get away and spend some time with Jesus to just WORSHIP
Him!
Because

TRUE WORSHIP CURRICULUM FOR PRETEENS There is no hotter topic than worship right now, and even preteens are on board in a big way. While that is a wonderful thing, not everything that is called "worship" is really worship.
True Worship Curriculum for Preteens by Toby Shockey & Jeff Chambers tackles the following topics:
SUMMER '09: WHAT WORKED, WHAT DIDN'T? With summer wrapping up and fall just around the corner, it's a good time to evaluate the successes -- and mishaps -- of these past few months.
Join the ongoing conversation in the Kidology Forums as we share what worked and what didn't during Summer 2009!
ON FIRE WORSHIP Cory Swinderman shares this short story/talk, based around Hebrews 12:28b-29. It's based on God's desire to fill us with himself during worship.
He notes that they used this story as part of his church's "Polar Fun in the Sun" party -- details and more tools can be found in Kidology's Creative Ideas Zone.
STARTING FROM SCRATCH Kidology Forums member myrayceman asks: "If you were starting from scratch, had only $300, a room with blue walls and a beach mural, your Bible, a CD player, microphone, four chatty helpers, and forty chairs, what would you do in kids' church?"
"What purchases would you make? What would you have your helpers doing first? How would you prioritize? What would you do? How would you maximize your assets? What do you think would be the most effective use of resources to minister to the children?"
MOVIE REVIEW: G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA "If you see this movie in theaters, don't expect to use your brain," notes Kidology CP Team member Scott Phillips in his review of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. "This is mindless action with some comedy sprinkled on top."
"Please do heed the PG-13 warning and seriously consider whether you want to take a young kid to this film. It is rather violent and a bit complicated for young children. But, it's exactly what it should be - a fun summer action film that nearly everyone will enjoy."
