CARPE
SUMR Remember
all those plans you had for summer? Remember all those things
you were going to do when the routine of the school year was
over? All those open days ahead of you? Well, if you are like
me, they whizzed by and didn't turn out to be as "open" as
first appeared! BUT THERE IS HOPE! Summer is NOT over yet!
Think back over all those great intentions, pick one, and
put it in the PDA or Day-Timer while you are still thinking
about it. Visit a kid, take a day at the beach, go for that
long bike ride, or actually get a babysitter and take your
spouse out on a date. Seize the Summer!

HEAD
LICE "A
child in our ministry has head lice," writes Network Forums
member kids4Him. "Have any of you ever dealt with
this in your ministries? If so, how? Our parents need
a whole lot of reassurance that the environment is safe to
bring their kids to (and I am the new Director - my 2nd week
at this church, it must be my job initiation!)"
FAITH
OVERCOMES... Kidology
contributors James & Karen Williams share lessons from their
"Faith Overcomes..." 5-part series. These lessons are
designed so that they can be used either individually or together.
Each lesson uses a different teaching method, tells a
Bible story, involves clowns, and teaches how Faith can overcome
an issue.

THE
KIDOLOGIST ON BALLOON MINISTRY "Ever
since I was the house magician at the Rock 'n Roll McDonald's
in downtown Chicago (back in college), I've been twisting
balloons for kids at church, birthday parties, magic shows,
etc.," writes Karl Bastian, the Kidologist. "But my use
of them in my ministry for teaching was pretty minimal and limited
to 1-balloon creatures. That was until very recently."

WHAT
HAPPENED TO CHILDREN'S CHOIRS? "For
decades children's choir programs were mainstays in children's
ministries," writes Kidology CP Team member MissNancy.
"Today, it seems, many churches never start them, are dropping
the program altogether, or only having summer programs. What
are you doing?"
