TRAINING KIDS TO SERVE
It's hard to believe, but I just finished my fourteenth year of K.C. Krew (Kids' Church Krew). This is my group of 5-6th graders who help plan, prepare, and pull off Kids' Church every week. While there are many avenues to children's ministry, my K.C. Krew has always been my favorite. I like to think it's Jesus' model of ministry - He ministered to the masses, but he poured his life into a handful of young people who carried on His ministry after He left. My prayer is that serving at church will become something children do naturally. It's no mystery to me why so many adults have no interest in serving; the church trained them through childhood and youth to come to church and sit and watch… and then we wonder why they won't volunteer. It's about time we taught kids to serve... so they will never stop!

Because Jesus Loves Children,

WHAT IS A "REGULAR ATTENDEE"?
"We're revising our child protection policy," writes Network Forums member jrsimpson. "One sample I've been using states 'No volunteer will be allowed to work with children until s/he has been a member or regular attendee for a minimum of six (6) months.' How would your church define a 'Regular Attendee'?"
