Karl, I wanted to tell you -WOW- Did my son Love your book, The Order of the Ancient. I need to get some more copies this year so I can give them out, and put it in our church library. Our copy is too worn to lend anymore :) Great Job!! Thanks.

Excerpt from Children's Ministry Blog with Jamie Doyle:

"The one you see me holding is about as big as my head and growing. (we've been adding to the ball since June - and yes, it's 100% name tags!)

This has been a great way to enforce our rule "Wear a name tag". We tell the kids that if they pull it off and stick it on constantly during the service of class, not only are they not obeying the rule - but, it will not be sticky enough to add to the name tag ball."

I think this is a great idea!  I'm gonna start one and have my older kids group compete with my younger kids group to see which can make the bigger ball...and wear their nametags

Jamie,
After reading this idea of yours I have to tell you that we have now started our own name tag ball as well. I am going to keep it displayed in a central spot for all to see until it gets to where it can barely go through the elevator doors and we will then take it downstairs to use as a promotional piece to show how many kids come through our doors.

I will keep you updated as it grows. Thanks again for the fun idea of creating the name tag ball.

Ours after just 3 weeks is the size of a large grapefruit already. I will post pictures later but we have to keep it under lock and key because for some reason it has become a prize possession and we have many who are trying to snatch it away as a prize.

Let the games begin!!!

We started one about 3 weeks ago as well. I'm amazed at how much the kids love it!

I have to tell you to keep it guarded - under lock and key if need be... someone will, no doubt, try to steal it!

The lock and key is exactly what I talked about from my above post as well. I think I am going to even have to look into armored guards. The advantage I do have is that in all of our offices and classrooms etc we have video cameras, so I will at least see it take off.
