I'm wanting to expand the vision of my CM team. I want them to see that there is more than one way to do kids church.
Is there anyone out there willing to video their kids church service and send it to me? Send me a pm. Thanks.

I have been busily converted YEARS of Kids Church VHS tapes to itunes, I could burn a few to disc for you and mail. Someday, I'd like to stream some online if there is an interest. Choose which ones would be the trick! Interested? Or maybe, drop ya a VHS tape in the mail, as I am throwing them out after I rip them to the computer.

This is actually a really good idea, something to make available to everyone who deals with this issue. My leaders have been pretty open to whatever, but my issue is pushing them towards excellence in all of it. I would love to have something that I could show them that is done well!

Yeah I would also be interested, especially in exposing people via video to new methods and ideas.

The other good point is infuse is just around the corner and you will see some there. But you are correct the more the merrier.

I am working right now to convert a sample kids church video from over 1gb to a size that is more reasonable to download. Looks like MP4 is the best format.

As promised, inspired by this post, and one other, I posted info and an entire children's church service that was completely written and run by children, check it out here: When Kids take over Kids Church. You can download the entire service to show the possibilities of what can be done by creating a service that isn't typical at all!

Hey Spencer,
I'll help you out in a few weeks. Our sanctuary is ordering HD cameras so the old cameras get passed down to us! I get to use them for videos and such (I'm actually considering making something similar to a toyboxtales type of video segment... just for laughs during our offering videos... more like homemade music videos would be the best way to describe it)... anywho...
Whenever I get the camera to use... I'll film a service and put it online for you to download.

Your question sparked a question I've had for a while. With ease of facebook, web access and youtube, videos of kids are constantly circulating. I'm looking at all the ways we communicate in our church and there are some things that are starting to make me very uncomfortable. We ask parents to sign a release for children's photos to be used in our promotion. But is it OK to be sending videos of kids classes and services that can be viewed by the public without parent permission? Where is that line today? Thoughts?
