This forum thread is for feedback on the Kidology Handbook Video. I'll admit, I was up a little too late and probably had one too many Dews!
Actually, I was all done filming a much calmer version but when I got home and imported the video I discovered the noise of a table saw in the background from a neighbor in our building, that I somehow didn't hear while filming. (I am 50% deaf!) So I headed back to film all over again after midnight knowing it was the best time to have a quiet building... and this video was the result as I just started filming short bits that I would somehow put all together later while editing! (You should see what ended up on the editing floor - like me doing the chicken dance with Elmo!)
Let me know what you think! Am I nuts?

Well, the answer of course is "YES!" You are nuts, it's been confirmed by others over and over again. And through the video you yourself have confirmed it once again.
But you are nuts in a good way! The video is very well done, and it only makes me all the more anxious to receive my copy of the Handbook - hurry up will ya!!! (I'm just kidding, I'll just keep counting the days until October and 'patiently' awaiting what will probably be one of the coolest handbooks ever to grace my office shelves). Thanks for doing this!

I was glad I watched it while the rest of the staff was at lunch. I was laughing pretty loud. Well done, and I'm sure the book is as well.

The first draft had a lot more about the content, but, to be honest, it was kinda boring, and all that info is available on the product page, be sure to hit the more info button and if you download the first chapter you also get the table of contents. But there is a LOT in this handbook, and I didn't want to give too much away - I promise you will be pleased, it is PACKED!

The Kidology Handbook - Teacher's Edition will be in your hands long before November, so, YES, it can be used for training. If you purchase the Group License, you may distribute up to 50 copies of the handbook to your volunteers so they can each have their own copy, PDF and Audio Book!
But since you mentioned training, I'll leak a little info here of what is coming next month!
Beginning in October 2007 I will be releasing one section at a time the Kidology Handbook - Leader's Edition! called Leadership Labs. Each of the sections (over twenty pages each) are released with an online training video! Then, if you purchase the Download Kit, you get not only the PDF of the Leader's Edition section, but also the online video as a download. But that's not all! You'll also get a customizable PowerPoint so that you can in turn train YOUR volunteeers on the same material, adapted for them.
It is my prayer that these Leadership Labs will meet a huge need for not only encouraging leaders, but equipping them to train others! I'll keep ya posted!

Great Video Pastor Karl!
I'm loving the way this new handbook looks and the application for children's ministry seems great! Definitely going to get this resource...

ok, I'm giving in to the pressure, by popular demand on my blog and via e-mail, I have posted the video on YouTube, along with a bonus video released first on YouTube, YES, the 100th Toybox Tale has been made, and this time, its NOT for the kids! It's for you! That's right, a Toybox Tale you can't show in Kids Church... it called A Day in the Life of a Children's Pastor.
I'm curious how releasing a video on YouTube first works? What do you think?

Hey Pastor Karl,
Great video! I especially love the hat choice "Go Cubs!", despite their early exit...there's always next yr....
Sounds like a true Cub fan, I'm sure
