Thanks for your wonderful presentations at the OCEA Conference. You not only gave me some great ideas, but you changed my attitude towards children's ministries. May God continue to bless your ministry ... keep up the great work.

We are about ready to put into place the Shelby check in component in our congregation - I have a few questions which I would love to hear how other congregations have addressed:

1.  Do you use both printed/photo id cards and the check in system?  If so - how did/do you incorporate that?

2.  How long did the entire system take to put in place?  We are going on a year - I anticipated 2-3 months at the offset and it has been a major scar on this ministry and my ministry personally here at this church.

3.  What ancillary pieces of equipment did you use?  Printers? Label makers? Receipt printers?

4.  Does any other ministries in the church use/check in individuals with this program?  Greeters/Ushers/Mid-week etc.?

Thanks

I was at a church that used Shelby, but they avoided getting that complicated. They did use it for attendance tracking, but they didn't use the ID card stuff...at least while I was there. I wasn't on paid staff at the time, but I got fairly versed in the system. Honestly, I'm not much of a fan.

We used printers, label makers as the main equipment.

In so far as I know, few of the ministries beyond the basics. I think they found it a tad overwhelming. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
