   Honoring My Mom By Investing in Future Children's Workers  | | Patti & Karl (1992) |
Congratulations to Moody Bible Institute student, Steven Knight. He is this year's recipient of the Patti Bastian Memorial Children's Ministry Scholarship. My greatest children's ministry mentor was my mom. Whether she was teaching children in Sunday School, training volunteers in a workshop, directing the Christmas play, or just encouraging someone by talking with them, she was a life-changer. Her love of kids was contagious. I certainly caught her passion, and now it lives on through my ministry, touching thousands of children's workers daily, impacting kids around the world. As she invested in me, I want to invest in other young people who feel called to children's ministry. There is no greater way to change the world than to change the life of a child. It's extra special to be honoring my mom again in this way, the week of Mother's Day.
