LEGO Your Volunteers "You also like LEGO BLOCKS, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood." 1 Peter 2:5 KBV (Karl Bastian Version)
Imagine a giant tower of LEGO blocks, each with a name of one of your volunteers written on it. Spiritually, that is what your children's ministry looks like! A LEGO block, by itself can't be built into anything - but get a box of blocks, and the coolest creations can be made! Only your imagination can limit the possibilities. The same is true of your ministry. By yourself - you can't accomplish anything, but with a team of volunteers you can change the world!
That's why Paul says, "Encourage one another and BUILD EACH OTHER UP, just as in fact you are doing." (I Thessalonians 5:11)
If you'd like to share this devotional with your team, I've created a PowerPoint with images you can download to use at your next training session or even in "Big Church" like I did. It may help you to recruit more "LEGO Blocks" for your children's ministry team!

The Stars of Christmas |
Looking for something innovative to use this holiday season? The Stars of Christmas is a revolutionary four-week, K-5 curriculum that delivers creative, Biblical content in a uniquely interactive, teacher-driven format.
It examines a different "Star" each week in a Grammy-style awards show that tells the entire Christmas story. Large Group lesson segments are provided on DVD, making lesson set-up simple. However, the teacher sets up and interacts with kids between each section, while integrated, age-appropriate Small Group segments help kids process the key concepts of the lessons with adult volunteers.
Created by the Willow Creek Association in collaboration with Dan Huffman -- Kidology Board Member and Children's Pastor at The Chapel, an innovative multi-site church in Illinois -- this Christmas series brings elements that kids remember while also being easy to use by staff and volunteers.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday... NIGHT! |
Scott Day is curious about your Sunday evening services. Really, he is! He posted a few questions in the Kidology Forums:
For those of you who do a Sunday night service, how well attended is your Sunday night service? Not only kids, but church wide?
If it is doing great with high attendance, what are you doing to encourage people to come? If it is not doing so good, why do you think that is?
Can you share your thoughts and help Scott out?
