Last week I was the speaker at Camp Timber-lee in Wisconsin. I used this idea about sharing the Gospel with flying chickens.
Flying Chickens
"Huh?"

I'm teaching through the Awesome Adventure series, adding an object lesson with a piece of hiking equipment comparing them to the tools God gives us for growth on our spiritual journey. For the lesson introduction, I created 12 games with these flying chickens I got on sale at an outlet store.

The campers absolutely went nuts over the flying chickens, so that gave me a fun contest idea. I wondered how YOU might share the Gospel with flying chickens? Go ahead, post your idea in the comments on my blog.

The person who provides the BEST "Gospel Presentation with Flying Chickens" idea (whether it be serious, funny, or innovative) will win one of MY flying chickens. So what are you waiting for? Post your idea today!

Dr. Seuss and the Bible
Dr. Seuss and the Bible"Grab a fun book like The Very Hungry Caterpillar or Where the Wild Things Are and create opportunities for preschoolers to learn spiritual concepts," notes curriculum author Dienna Goscha.

"Classic read-aloud books are excellent avenues to use to teach preschoolers biblical truths. Because kids love a good story that captures their attention, books are fantastic learning tools to use in a variety of settings.

An added bonus is that by using books children normally read at the library, in day care, at home, in preschool, or community education classes, preschoolers will see God as part of life instead of just residing in the walls of the church or the home."

Lessons from a Zoo?
Lessons from a Zoo?

Marty Martin, Kidology To Go Coordinator, is traveling across the country in his RV providing mobile children's ministry training.  After visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE, he started thinking about animals and kidmin:

One of my first dream jobs as a kid was to be a zookeeper, and today I have my own little mobile zoo, cruising around the country with a bunch oh wild animals... and my wife!

As a children's pastor I loved to tap into the natural love and wonder kids have for animals. Almost every character trait you want to discuss can be found in the wild kingdom of animals. God has also placed so many natural examples and signs within the world of beasts and creatures that confirm his Word...

For many kids, the Bible seems so big and complex that they feel overwhelmed. They don't know how to start mining the riches in the New Testament.

In this unit, you will take children on a tour that will unlock the mysteries of God's Word and give them confidence to navigate through the New Testament. They will learn how the New Testament fits together, with its 27 books falling into three groups: History, Living Letters, and Prophecy.

Object Talks: The Saw and the Level
The Saw and the LevelThis video is a short object lesson featuring a saw who is nervous to make a cut because he is afraid to make a mistake.

The level encourages him that it is better to take action, even at the risk of making mistakes. Better to makes mistakes and learn from them, than to do nothing and miss out on what God wants to do.

Kidology Zones

We all run into it at some point in ministry... discouragement. Sometimes it creeps in gradually and sometimes it hits us like a brick wall. It could be a particular situation that causes it, a season where things are tough, or it could come from nowhere. However, it is universal. Every person in kidmin will face discouragement in ministry.

Here are 10 ways to overcome discouragement:
